Challenges
Bath Rugby is a Premiership rugby club operating from a Grade II listed English country house in Farleigh Hungerford on the outskirts of Bath. The main stadium is in the heart of Bath at The Recreation Ground.
Despite an increase in digital training aids, print is still an important requirement for the rugby and commercial team but print resources were getting old and inefficient with no defined replacement or support strategy in place. Obtaining replacement consumables, maintenance and repairs was a complex, time consuming and often expensive task.
Solution
James Wiltshire, Partnerships Manager, says, “As a premiership level rugby club, we want to make sure that our infrastructure at all levels replicates the standards we expect from our players. By having 1st Office on board, we are able to streamline our print solution, minimising time spent on technical issues, supplies and product replacement.”
“Andrew and the team at 1st Office are subject matter experts in their field and having them on hand for support whenever needed is invaluable to ensuring we remain an efficient organisation.”
Bath Rugby replaced its existing print fleet with 1st Office under a fully managed print service agreement. 1st Office worked closely with Bath Rugby to design and deploy the new solution pre-season to minimise disruption and allow time to train and familiarise the staff with the new devices.
1st Office handle all on-going support and maintenance and part of this service includes remote management of the devices so that toner levels are monitored and automatically replenished and delivered to site before they are depleted thereby avoiding any costly downtime.

Benefits
1st Office has transformed print services at Bath Rugby. A combination of a flexible solution from 1st Office and efficient Ricoh technology has enabled the club to reduce its costs whilst at the same time improving efficiency, flexibility and ease of use.
Consistency has been a significant part of the efficiency improvement since staff only need to be trained on one type of device and be able to operate any of the fleet with the simple to use standard user interface.
The solution has also made print resources much easier to manage with all devices, irrespective of location, being networked with print activity monitoring allowing greater insight on how effectively the devices are being used. Remote access by 1st Office has also removed involving club staff for maintenance and support issues.
Faster print speeds, scan to email and improved print quality can also now be enjoyed by the users.
